Prof. (Dr.) Susan Verghese P is a distinguished faculty member with more than 33 years of experience in the Department of Chemistry at St. John’s College, Agra, where she currently serves as Head of the department. Prof. Verghese has received the SEG Awards ABC Level 3 in Education and Training from Skills and Education Group, United Kingdom. Prof. Verghese holds a Master’s degree in Physical Chemistry from St. John’s College, an M.Phil. from the Institute of Basic Sciences, and a Ph.D. from DBRAU, Agra. Under her guidance, 12 research scholars have been awarded their Ph.D., and four scholars are currently pursuing their doctoral research. Prof. Verghese has also successfully completed a project sponsored by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Prof. Verghese has published over 93 articles in national and international journals, books, and conference proceedings. She is the Chief Editor of the Book: “Greening the Future: Nanotechnology, Environment, and Education for Sustainable Development” and ZECHIRA. As a renowned expert in her field, Prof. Verghese has served as a resource person for numerous Faculty Development Programs and Analytical Instrumentation Training Courses. She has delivered many invited lectures and presented papers at conferences, including an international conference held in Bangkok. Additionally, she has been a panelist in SAARC and a National Geographic Channel documentary film. She has won many awards for her contribution to academic development programs, including the Certificate of Appreciation from the Government of Uttar Pradesh, Department of Higher Education and an “Appreciation certificate from DBRAU for “Teacher’s Day Celebration” held on September 5, 2021. The other awards received by her are Indira Priya Darshini Award- Mahatma Gandhi Excellence Award- 2017; Bharat Jyothi Award 2017. Excellence in Research and Teaching Award on February – 2016 by Indian Society of Genetics Biotechnology Research & Development Agra, India She is a Life Member of Indian Council of Chemist; Life Member of Researcher’s Society of Chemical Sciences, India and Life member for Society for Indoor environment, New Delhi. She was the convenor for the International conference on Recent Advances in Environmental Protection (RAEP-2019) and Round Table Discussion on TTZ growth and sustainability; organizing secretary for 2009 & 2018 RAEP. She spearheaded 13 (online) international webinars on RAEP- Sustainable Development Goals on Zoom platform; contributed the e‑learning material E-PATHSHALA for B.Sc. and M.Sc. Physical chemistry classes for the DBRAU website. Prof. Verghese is also a member of RDC for DBRAU. and SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Modinagar. Member of Board of studies (BoS) of DBRAU, and GLA University Mathura. She is an approved academic counsellor for chemistry for Indira Gandhi Open University since 2004. Coordinator And Resource Person for 13 AITC’S (Analytical Instrumentation Training Course). She has contributed towards the preparation of curriculum for four Skill development courses for DBRAU. She has participated in the “Master class on Artificial Intelligence AI Tools for Teaching” organized by NPTC Group of Colleges, United Kingdom, and completed the India-UK International Faculty development programs on “Blended and Online Teaching-Learning. She was a member of the three-member committee responsible for developing the Common Minimum Syllabus of Chemistry for all U.P State universities and colleges. Her research interests include nanotechnology, material science, heavy metal recovery and reuse, water pollution management, and the synthesis of eco-friendly pesticides. Throughout her distinguished career, Prof. Verghese has demonstrated exceptional talent, dedication, and leadership, making significant contributions to chemistry teaching, research, administration, and extracurricular activities.
Prof. Raju V. John is a Professor of Chemistry at St. John’s College, Agra UP India affiliated with Dr. Bhim. Rao Ambedkar University Agra (formally Agra University, Agra). with over 25 years of dedicated teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. . She studied at Agra University, Agra (MSc. MPhil., Ph.D.). With more than three decades of research expertise, her primary area of specialization is Environmental pollution and management, where she has made significant academic contributions through research publications in reputed national and international journals and produced 3 Ph.D under her Supervision. Prof. John is a Life Member of Indian Council of Chemists and has actively participated in numerous national and international conferences and seminars, presenting research papers on environmental chemistry and water quality management. She has also been invited for lecture at various academic forums, sharing her expertise with students, researchers, and faculty members. In addition to her academic and research accomplishments, Prof. John has extensive administrative experience, having served in multiple leadership roles and as a member of several academic and institutional committees at both university and college levels. Her commitment to teaching, research, and academic administration reflects her dedication to the advancement of chemistry education and environmental sustainability. Prof. John continues to mentor students and contribute to research in water quality, pollution control, and environmental management, striving to promote scientific awareness and sustainable solutions for environmental challenges.
Dr. Mohd. Anis is a professor in the Department of Chemistry, St John’s College, Agra, affiliated with Dr. Bhim. Rao Ambedkar University Agra (formally Agra University, Agra). He served as an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry at Government P.G. College, Agastyamuni, Rudraprayag, U.K (1998 -2000). In 1997, he worked as a guest lecturer at the Institute of Basic Sciences, Khandari, Agra. He studied at Agra University, Agra (MSc., MPhil., Ph.D.). He worked as a project fellow in a research project sanctioned by UGC, New Delhi (1992-1996). He has 28 years of experience in teaching and research. He has published many research papers in reputed National and international journals and supervised 01 PhD student. He has attended and presented research papers at many conferences. He has served for analytical instrumentation training courses. Dr. Anis is a life member of professional bodies such as the Indian Council of Chemists and the Indian Chemical Society. His research interests include metal carboxylates, organic synthesis and Greener Chemistry.
