Prof. Jamakhandi Hayavadana graduated in B.Tech Textile Technology in 1985 from Bangalore University, M.Tech in Textile Technology from PSG College of Technology, Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore, in 1994, and PhD from Anna University in 1998 in Textile Technology. He also pursued MBA from the University of Madras. During his 40 years of academic and Industrial experience, he has published a number of papers in National and International journals. He has certificates in Yellow, Green, and Black Belts from Six Sigma. He has been awarded with Six patents in different fields. He has published six books in Textile Technology, and a few are in progress. He has also published books in the Pharmacy and Management fields. His current research area is the mechanization of handlooms, advanced testing, design and development of textile instruments, and application of Lean Six Sigma for the textile industry. He has designed nearly 12 Textile Testing instruments for his Textile Testing lab. He also serves as BOS chairperson for several faculties. He has published five books, and some of them are in the pipeline. He has guided a number of PhD scholars and evaluated PhD thesis from various Universities spread all over India.

During his 30-year stay at Osmania University, Hyderabad, he started and developed the Textile Technology department from scratch. He is now working as Senior Professor, Professor, & Head and serving in the later position for the past 30 years.  He has supervised many UG & PG thesis works and evaluated nearly 60 PhD thesis works under various Indian Universities. He is also a reviewer for SAGE journals
